Girls Night Out

Last night was a girls night out with my dear friend Monica. We haven't hung out just the two of us for hours and hours on end, with no time restrictions, since she had baby Parker a little over a year ago. We discovered last night in talking about it that we'd also never actually gone out to a movie together!

Dinner at Applebee's. Good, godly conversation. Lots of laughs. Saw the movie You Again. Really funny. Good acting. Multiple attempts by me not to laugh too hard so as to ward off intense coughing fits. Some good Sierra Mist & a box of junior mints (her) and part of a bag of Reese's Pieces (me) later, the movie was over and we were exiting the theater in great moods.

We topped the night off with ice cream at Culver's and more great conversation.

Many reminders of why I love hanging out with this girl.

She's a one-in-a-million and I'm incredibly, ridiculously, insanely blessed to call her my friend.

Oh my goodness! I have been wanting to see You Again lately (my father is obsessed with the cast fight). Glad you liked it and had a wonderful time!

Interesting that the movie was good. Mainly because I've wondered if it would be totally cheesy. I'm glad it was good! (And of course, glad your evening with a friend was good!!!)

Thanks ladies!

While it was good and pretty clean, it definitely did have a cheesy-ness factor. But I think it was outshone by the genuine acting talent in the movie. Victor Garber & Jamie Lee Curtis together turns out to be quite a hoot, Sigourney Weaver is amazing as always, and Kristen Bell isn't as annoying as she can be. I loved the male lead in a Hallmark movie he did, and he also did a fab job in this role.

Not a movie to make hubbies sit through, def something to go to with a good girlfriend, but may not be on your "must buy this" list. Not in our top 10 movies, but it was enjoyable. Best part was just hanging out and watching it together though. :)

Oh and it does have a great message that comes across well about letting your past go and moving on as an adult. It's a neat time of reflection back on your own high school years, and how it's made you into the person you are now.

Ohhhh man if only we knew then what we know now, we'd be better kids!!
