Things I Like Tuesday

1. Identical Twins - 

I've seen pictures. I've heard stories. But I'd never been in the same room as them before. It was so intriguing and interesting and thrilling for me to interact with both of them on Sunday afternoon at Angela's {right} apartment in Chicago for Georgia's {left, former coworker, dear friend} baby shower! Georgia & Angela have the same voice, the same appearance, the same artistic taste, the same smile... it's so interesting to me!! I loved every second of it. The main difference right now is one is pregnant and one has short hair! 

2. Junk food - 

Ohhhhhhh man this stuff is good!

Bad for the waistline, good for the soul!

3. Propel Zero Grape

5. Our front tree - 

As we prepare to leave for several days in the prime of our front tree's spring life, I can't help but share some more pictures of it. It just leaves me breathless, it's so beautiful, I can't get enough of it!

Things I Like Tuesday

1. Spring trees blooming in my hometown last weekend {they haven't really started blooming here, it's been too cold still}.

2. Fan my brother & his family gave me last weekend. They bought it as a bit of a joke, but they know I get hot really easily so not only was it funny, it was also quite practical. :) It helped a lot that 87 degree weekend, and also again this past weekend at the big wedding we helped our friends with! It has an awesome long string for going around my neck and I can just rest it there. It's a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

what? it comes in really handy!!

3. I like watching more construction happening in our offices. This is already from a few weeks ago, and the expansion is now nearly completed. It's the back part of our old mezzanine storage area on the second floor. The very last of our storage space is gone, but it's about to be the new Bible division offices. It's exciting!!!

4. I like practical jokes, and April Fool's Day. This had to be the best one of the day.

Given all the construction we've had going on, it wasn't all that surprising to see a sign of this type. I think we all assumed some sort of construction or alarm system work was going on and we had to exit out the other door. However, when we got to the other door, it said the opposite message. So those parked out front went to the front door, only to find it telling us to exit through the back door. We get to the back door, only to find it telling us to exit through the front door, and vice versa. It was momentarily frustrating, and then absolutely hilarious when it started dawning on people!! It got everybody! So, so fun!


5. I like - really, really, really like my job {and not just because of the hilarity that often abounds there, such as the above}! It's just really an incredible place to work! Here's the view from where I sit each day.

Things I Like Tuesday

1. 

I like double date nights with friends - shopping, mall wandering, eating at Red Robin, hanging out, watching comedy and laughing hysterically.

{This was the Friday night just before I started my week off blogging.}

2. 

I like babysitting my favorite Parker boy and inviting other friends over to hang while I do!

3. 

I like having dinner with a relatively new friend after work! What an incredible blessing. I've told you guys before about Don & Sara and their adoption journey. Getting to know them better, learning from them, and watching them go through so much stuff with integrity and grace has just been amazing. Sara really blessed and encouraged me as we hung out for a couple of hours at a local Mexican restaurant. I'm so thankful for her. I've been getting to know the spouses of more of my coworkers and I just love it. We are like family here and it's really special to me to have these relationships with my coworkers & their families!

4. 

I like love my church. I love the women of my church. I love women's ministry events where we just gather together as women, praying, worshiping, sharing, and learning.

This past Friday night we had an event called Heart & Sole. We were encouraged to bring gently used shoes for people in Haiti. Then we had a half hour of worship followed by two sets of workshops, and ended the evening with a lovely acoustic coffee house. We focused on God's love for us and how He is our true valentine. It was amazing.

1. I like unexpected lunch visits, like last week from my aunt and cousin from Chicago!

2. Being serenaded by the beautiful music played by two very dear friends!

3. The way trees look when they're ice covered!

4. Random, spontaneous pizza nights with hilarious friends!

5. Trashing a coworker's office as her welcome present after 3 weeks in Kenya!
