Missionary Friends

I have such deep respect and admiration for my friends Dudley & Inge.

I first met Dudley at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in February 2000. They had an Intercollegiate branch, and a job recruitment portion of the convention for the members of IRB. It was there I first met Dudley, and I had such a strong feeling that I should go work with him at Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, as a production assistant in their "Unshackled!" radio division {an old-time radio program with live actors in front of a live audience, sharing real, life-changing stories}.

I was offered the position officially and accepted it just like a week or so before college graduation. I started working there a week after we got back from our honeymoon, in early July 2000.

I worked with Dudley for a year, and he was a definite highlight of my time there. With sarcasm and wit galore, I appreciated his lightening of the otherwise often intense mood in that office.

We kept in touch over the years, and appreciated their kindness to us. A few years ago, Dudley & Inge accepted the call to go serve as missionaries in Swaziland.

Yesterday I got the joy of seeing them again!!

It was great to catch up with them, hear about their work in Swaziland, show them around my workplace, introduce them to a few people, show them our products, talk about the way our company is growing, and share in some good memories.

I love having Facebook to keep in touch with people like Dudley & Inge, but I must admit, yesterday was really great. It's good to still see people beyond just the walls of Facebook!

Thank you, Dudley & Inge, you two are such a delight! Praise God for the work you are doing!!

How wonderful you had some face time with them. Facebook is nice, but the real thing is so much better!
