Whirlwind Wild Wonderful Wedding Weekend

We had a great weekend. We had an exhausting weekend. We are officially done with plans for this month. No more craziness. Rest. Relaxation. Ahhhhhhh.

But it was all absolutely wonderful while it lasted.

Christmas was great, exhausting, wonderful, refreshing, and amazing. Except that Tim & I both got sick. Bleh. But everywhere I turn people are getting sick like crazy, so I know it's not just us. I'm sorry for those of you I heard were sick on Christmas Day even. Sad. :(

I really hope to post more details about both Christmas and Thanksgiving soon. I really want to share so much of it with you that it just takes me a long time to get the posts done. Thanks for your patience. :) In the meantime, I'm slowly trying to catch up on all of your blogs. I just hate that I got so far behind!

This weekend was really quite interesting. Tim's youngest (adopted) sister got married on Saturday. Kandy is like the little sister I never had. She is 23. Or 22. I can't remember but it's one of those. Anyway, she also has cerebral palsy. She is one amazing, miracle of a woman! She was like one pound when she was born, and has had more surgeries in her lifetime than I can even begin to count. She was fostered as an infant and was placed with Tim's family pretty much immediately (at least from my understanding). When I first met her about 12 years ago, she was so tiny and frail. She has grown into a very lovely, wonderful, godly young woman, and we are sooo proud of her!!!

Prepping her and sending her down the aisle was a delight {I was the wedding planner}, and the best moment of the day was watching my husband give her away {their father died 3 years ago and out of all 10 siblings, Kandy chose Tim... it was soooo sweet to watch him play the 'dad' role!!!}.

Here are just a couple of pics from the wedding day:

They had an absolutely terrific photographer, my dear friend Sherah of Sherah G Photography. She is incredible. Seriously. If you live in Chicagoland, I highly, highly recommend her!! Sherah and her husband Marty were the best {pictured above}. They helped out, kept people calm, took great pics, chatted it up with the fam, made people feel comfortable, made people laugh, and now the entire family is psyched for whenever their little boy decides to enter into this world! Marty also helped back Sherah up with photography in really cool ways. It was so neat to see my friends hanging with my family. It was really a huge blessing. Thanks again Sherah & Marty!

The smartest thing I did for this wedding that I haven't for the others I've helped plan before, was that I wore dress pants instead of a fancy dress, so that I could wear comfortable shoes. Let me tell you, there was a HUGE difference in how I felt the next day because of those shoes and my comfort level.

Ahhhhhhh. :)

Yes, the Fibro freaked out. But not even close to the level I thought it would. I'm amazed. Yes, I'm still hurting as a result, but it's okay. I've had much worse.

The bummer of all bummers is that I ran out of my pain meds Sunday night {arriving any day in the mail now... hurry up pharmacy!}, so I'm not sleeping well now, but at least the pain is manageable and I'm not screaming... yet. :)
