Fall Into Reading 2010

I love books. I tend to read only fiction, but recently I've been trying to pick up a few more non-fiction books to spread my horizons. But I tend to get over-zealous and my list always grows and grows faster than I have time to read. Sometimes I just get tired of reading as a part of my job {remember, I'm part editor} and don't want to pick up another thing to read when I'm at home {hence why we often watch perhaps a bit too much TV}.

I have a dear friend {in real life} who has a lovely blog about reading. She loves to read constantly and works at a library. I love her passion for books, but sadly I am unable to keep up with her. Please check out her blog if you love to read!

I learned about this Fall Into Reading through my friend {bloggy--never met in real life} Mary's blog. And my list has seriously become ridiculous. As I walked through our house and picked up books I'd started reading here and there {in some cases just a few pages, in others just a few chapters}, and other books I'd been meaning to get to soon, my stack got bigger and bigger... and bigger.

Without further ado, my ever-growing list....

Books I've Recently Read:

The Sword by Bryan Litfin
Take Two by Karen Kingsbury
Take One by Karen Kingsbury
Shades of Blue by Karen Kingsbury

Like Dandelion Dust by Karen Kingsbury {and I hope to see the movie out based on this book soon!!}

Books I've Recently Listened to on Audio:
Think by John Piper
Death by Love by Mark Driscoll
Rescuing Ambition by Dave Harvey
     {*And yes, all 3 of these have to do with the fact that I oversee the production of these audio books where I work. So yes I did them as part of my job. But trust me, they're good! Death by Love is not for the faint of heart, but it's powerful and incredible and moving.}

Disclosure: No one pressured me or talked to me about reading any of these books, these are the ones I chose. All opinions above are fully my own, including the ones I chose from where I work.

And here's hubster's reading list:

Encouragement Changes Everything by John C. Maxwell
The Joy of Encouragement by David Jeremiah
Do the Right Thing by Mike Huckabee
What In the World Is Going On by David Jeremiah

Bwahahahaha! I think it's so funny. Although the fact that he's even reading 4 books is pretty amazing. He hates reading!! Two of them are political/philosophical and two are for my sake {my love language is words of affirmation so he's trying to work on it :)}!

So, all truth be told, I had tried this list a couple of times. My list just kept getting bigger and more ridiculous, so I needed to keep narrowing it back down. Not only was it overwhelming me I figured you all wouldn't even attempt to read my entire list! I want to get better about reading! Here's our table after doing some shots of the books last weekend:

Happy reading!

I also LOVE to read!! I read a lot about health and nutrition and lots of Christian living books. I have read 'Crazy Love' that Sydney mentioned and you would probably want to add that to your list-lol:) Thanks for a great list of books!

I love to read, too! I just purchased all of Janet Evanovich's books about Stephnie Plumb and am having so much fun getting lost in Stephanie's "world" than my own!

Hope you are having a great day!! You deserve it!

As you know, I also get overzealous with my reading list. Yours looks just as bad as mine!

I love your photos - a realistic picture of a real reader! I think the Movies with Meaning sounds interesting. I hope you'll tell me how it is after you read it.

Also, did you think that Kingsbury's Take One and Take Two were as good as the Baxter books? I haven't read them yet, but they are on my "someday" list...

Hi Rochelle,

First let me tell you that I enjoyed your visual by photographs. Nice and clear.

I noticed you had several Fibromyalgia books. My favorite FM book is "Fibromyalgia Up Close and Personal" by Dr. Mark J. Pellegrino. It's my "other Bible."

Thank you for this post. Fun to see another side of you. :D
