Mom's dog, Bear, isn't out of the woods yet. Apparently she somehow got into some rat poison which tore apart her insides. Given that grandpa wasn't thinking clearly and didn't act quickly, Bear lost way too much blood and it's going to be a long recovery. Poor Grandpa - he feels awful. Poor Bear - so much pain. She's on an IV and they're giving her Vit K to help her blood clot. She'll be at the vets for a while yet, until they are sure she's better. If she continues to get better, in 2-3 weeks she'll be back to being fully normal. But for now, she's lost all bladder control, is still losing blood, and is being watched very closely.
The good sign is that she wagged her tail when mom came to visit her at the vets last night. She didn't get up to come over to mom, but apparently the fact that she wagged her tail was a good sign.
Please pray for mom's dog. She feels like my dog too and it's just so sad to see her going through this. Plus mom's planning another trip this weekend and doesn't have anyone to watch Bear now (she'll likely board her at the vets). I wish so badly I could go down to help her, but I fly out really early on Tues morning to CA and that would just be too much.
Speaking of which, I am really nervous about next week! I know that is silly and I'm learning not to worry and leave it in God's hands, but it is nerve-wracking to try to remember everything I need to do before leaving and plan ahead as to what needs to be packed, etc.
Here's a good reminder that we should not worry. Matt 6:34 (ESV): "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
