Back home safe

Thanksgiving was wonderful - it was so great to take some time away for family and friends. But with all the traveling lately, I'm utterly exhausted. We left my hometown at 7 am today instead of the planned 2 pm because of the bad snow forecast for today all over the state. We still went through some not-so-fun stuff, but I'm thankful we left early and took it slow. I hate that we missed church and I didn't get to see all my friends at my hometown church, but I'm glad we're back safe. It's kind of nice to have some extra time to relax and unpack instead of getting back late this evening. And we did beat the onslaught of snow in the Chicago area. Finally down around Pontiac, IL, things started to clear up and it turned more to rain the rest of the way home. But otherwise the entire way it was flurrying and got really bad around Bloomington, IL. We are so thankful to be safe and warm in our own home this evening, despite a good weekend away. Now we leave again in 2 1/2 weeks for our Christmas adventure back home. I can't wait but it'll be nice not to have to travel again for a while after that!!

I will share more later about the entire weekend, but for now it's time to get back to the couch, resting and falling asleep to the Bears game because I just cannot seem to keep my eyes open!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too!

Yay for Thanksgiving! Glad to hear you are back safe and sound. Get some rest and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow for lunch. By the way, I tagged you on my blog (Six Quirky Things post). Don't feel obligated to do it, just thought it would be fun!
