New Wheels

As of yesterday, I'm the new owner of this:

A nifty 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with AWD. I'm soooo excited! I know it's not super economical but the main purpose for it is the AWD and safety features. The 45 minute commute each way to and from work is a killer, and adds so much stress. But I love my job, I like my house (ish--but I am thankful for it), we aren't moving in this economy, so the next best thing was to get a safer vehicle, good for winter driving, and a little more spacious. It was affordable for us...we made a wise decision under the circumstances, and I could not be happier (despite that it was a challenging & exhausting negotiation process that lasted toooo long yesterday)!!!

It's not a hard SUV to get in and out of, and I have a feeling this will actually really help with my pain levels on the commute. Sometimes the hardest thing to do at all is get to and from work. And at least for now, it's a fun new "toy" that I get to drive to work, which makes the drive more exciting, more challenging, and more cautious!! Cuz, you know, I'd rather not get in an accident right after buying my nifty vehicle.

That would totally stink.

I've been driving it around a bit...making excuses to get out and about...and having lots of fun! I never knew before what I didn't have, lol! :) Including... a WORKING CLOCK!

Say what?!

That's right, for the near 5 years I had my Subaru Forester prior to this, at least 2 of those years the clock had died out. We didn't mess with fixing it, but let me tell you...it sure is nice to have a real clock. Yippee!

And the cupholders...don't get me started. It's soooo nice to have real cupholders that aren't attached by some lame pop-out thing ABOVE, that's right above, the temp controls & radio (making spills even messier and stickier)!!

Ahhhh...

I am thankful and blessed.

Well, congratulations!! What an awesome car, I love it!! Yeah - the commute - don't get me started :) I had to take the bus to and from work, a real nightmare at times.
Enjoy the new toy, hugs
