H1N1 Swine Flu - My Thoughts

I already had my doubts about the H1N1 vaccination. It was quickly developed to get into the market promptly. It's one of the largest planned mass vaccinations in history.

All the hype is a little ridiculous to me.

Then a chiropractor friend of mine from growing up posted a link on Facebook to a very interesting video. It caught my attention.

And fast.

Specifically if you have CFS or Fibro, pay attention at 2:21 into the video. It about blew my socks off.

I don't necessarily want to stir up any debate about vaccinations, whether or not they're wise, etc etc. I just want us all to be pro-active in researching about it ourselves, instead of just doing what they tell us to because they tell us so.

My personal decision is to not get the vaccination. And yes, it was solidified when watching this video. I got the link from a person I trust. If others have been devastated by it and it made their symptoms worse... well, no thank you.

But that's just me. Here's the video. You do with it what you will:

I know God gave us doctors for a reason. I know medicine can help us. I take plenty of medications. But I've been learning a lot about vaccinations recently and doing some research. I just don't think they're all that effective, and sometimes it can do more harm than good. For me, for my body, I tend to think it will do more harm than good.

I'm trusting God in his sovereignty, and I'm just not worried about it.

How about you?

I saw this on FB last week and it scared me. I got the regular flu vaccine (because Im on Methotrexate) but I refuse to get that Swine flu shot and don't want my family to have it either. Not with them rushing it. We spoke with our pediatrician on Monday and He won't give it to his kids either. That ought to tell you something, right?

I couldn't get more than two or three seconds of it to show at a time. I'll have to try to go straight to youtube and find it.

We aren't getting the vaccine. You're right about them rushing it. We also don't get the regular flu shot, but we don't have a specific reason where it would be worse for us to get the flu than not.

Betsy over at My Five Men recently did a little thing on the vaccine too with her thoughts. Her triplets (they are almost 16 now) are autistic and were diagnosed at 4 and you have to wonder about the association of vaccines as she did in her post (they were bundled).

By the way, I think the swine flu vaccine has mercury in it. That's one of the things that makes it especially unattractive.

Eek, bummer! Sorry it's not working for you Kayren! Basically the point I was surprised at was when he said he's seen people with CFS and Fibromyalgia have serious complications from the immunizations. I was just really shocked to even hear it like that. I know we're more sensitive, but I hadn't really put the two and two together.

I got the regular flu shot one time two years ago and it was the worst winter of illnesses for me ever. It was awful. I'm convinced the vaccine had something to do with that despite my doctor's disagreement.

Yes, docs not giving the vaccines to their kids definitely ought to tell you something! Wow. And yes, the mercury in the vaccine definitely lost its attractiveness for me too! ughhh.

Wow. Thanks for putting up this video Rochelle. It works fine for me by the way :) That was very interesting what the doctor said at 2.20. I was totally shocked. The vaccine isn't available here in NZ yet, but I think I'll stay well clear of it even when it is available. Thanks again!

Everyone so far is against the vaccine, so let me put in my two cents for it.

First, you guys do realize that the H1N1 vaccine is the normal seasonal flu shot with minor adjustments made to address the specifics of H1N1, right?

Second, my friend is a pediatrician, and she says her hospital wards are completely full of very sick children with H1N1. What happens if your unvaccinated child infects an entire classroom or school?

I think a lot of people overlook that one of the main reasons for getting vaccinations in general is not to just keep ourselves healthy, but also to prevent the spread of disease and to keep it from infecting those whose immune systems are too weak to handle vaccinations.

If you're concerned about mercury, you can get the nasal version of the vaccine, which does not contain the (very) small amount of mercury that may be in the injected version.

Autism doesn't manifest itself until children are toddlers, which is why it is usually attributed to vaccines.

So much of the issues with the vaccine is hype. Do REAL research for yourself - looking at a wide variety of sources - and consider the impact your decision will have on the people who live and work with you.

Thanks everyone for weighing in. I appreciate what you said Leigh and in a kind tone.

Personally I don't have kids so that aspect doesn't affect me directly. All of this is exactly why I said at the beginning to do the research for yourself. I just hadn't heard of it in that particular way before with a specific reference to Fibro. So I was just amazed to hear it. My immune system really can't handle vaccinations, and it'd likely make me worse. I know that with much more certainty now than I did previously.

I have a lot of friends on both sides of the spectrum on this. I just ask everyone here to speak kindly & graciously, take everything with a grain of salt and be proactively researching for you and your loved ones. Use your own discernment and know what's best for you, your family, and those around you.

I simply felt it was my duty to share that video with you, especially those of you who have Fibro and other chronic illnesses. A day or two before that, I'd also heard a news report about women in the early to mid 30's being hospitalized with H1N1 and how once hospitalized they seem to get immediately worse. (Not dying, just worse for a time.) I have prayed about it and because these things have been coming to me in the days right after my prayers about it, it's clear to me God is showing me to avoid the vaccine. And I'm just praying about whether or not I get it, and God knows my story. He knows if I'll get it or not; He knows how sick I'll get when/if I get it. I'm trusting Him and resting in His almighty hand.

That is NOT to say that you shouldn't get the vaccine just because you're "trusting God". I don't believe that at all. For some people, yes, this may be a very important vaccine to get.

Do your research. Do what you will with that video. I trust you will make the right decision for you and your loved ones.

Thanks, friends.
